How exif & gps remover works

EXIF can describe the camera, lens, exposure settings, capture time and location of a photo. Removing its EXIF container helps prevent those fields from travelling with the file. JPEG images are cleaned by removing metadata segments rather than recompressing the photograph. Colour profiles are retained for consistent display. Removing EXIF orientation can change how a viewer rotates a photo.

Good to know

Location can also be visible in the photograph itself. Review the photo as well as its metadata before sharing.

Three simple steps

  1. Select your supported files or drag them into the tool.
  2. Choose Remove metadata and start cleaning.
  3. Review the report and download your results.
