Using the tools

This free service removes or edits supported metadata fields. Use it only for files you are authorised to modify. Keep originals and inspect edited results before relying on them.

Limits of metadata removal

The service is not a forensic sanitisation or redaction product. Content, filenames, annotations, tracked changes, embedded attachments, hidden document content and unsupported metadata may remain. Cleaning cannot guarantee anonymity or that an AI image will be undetectable.

Dates and signatures

Embedded file dates differ from operating-system timestamps. Editing a file can invalidate digital signatures and change how another application interprets it. Do not use metadata editing to misrepresent evidence or ownership.

Availability and responsibility

The tools are provided as available, without a promise of completeness or uninterrupted operation. You are responsible for reviewing your output. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
